Gattuso Bid Farewell to Milan as Inzaghi Writes His Goodbye

This season is simply ending in a sad way for Ac Milan as not only they failed to retain their Scudetto title but there will be host of senior players leaving by the end of this season. After Alessandro Nesta confirmed his goodbye, another legend, Gennaro Gattuso, followed his path by confirming that he won't be playing again for the Red and Black squad next season.

Speaking to the press after a meeting with Milan's vice president, Adriano Galliani, earlier today, Gattuso revealed that he doesn't feel there will be much space for him again at the club, so the midfielder decided to give space for new players next summer. The former Italian international also hinted at retiring by stating that in one year, he will return to Milanello and discuss a possible position at the club, not as a player of course. This decision comes only a day after Nesta confirmed his farewell via press conference on Wednesday, a pretty fast development indeed at the Rossoneri headquarter.

"I've been out for almost a year, and I know there won't be any space for me anymore in the team so I'm making room for other players. This decision has been agreed by the Milan board and I, but one year from now we will meet again to discuss about a plan to work together but not as a player," Gattuso said
note: further details about Gattuso's departure will be revealed on Saturday in a press conference.

Just like Nesta, Gattuso has been loved a lot by the Milan fans and actually he was being rumored as one of the Senatores that won't be leaving by the end of season along with Massimo Ambrosini. However, it seems that the "Pitbull" decided that quitting this season is the best for both parties, so despite leaving a bitter taste for many Milanisti, Rino simply doing what he things best for the club. Aside from Gattuso and Nesta, previously the news have pretty much revealed that by the end of season many players will be leaving Milanello especially senior players such as Gianluca Zambrotta, Clarence Seedorf along with Filippo Inzaghi. However with the addition of Rino and Nesta, the numbers of departures will be much bigger considering there are other players, who still have some contract issues with the Rossoneri such as Alberto Aquilani and also Maxi Lopez.

Inzaghi himself has also confirmed his departure with a special letter which can be seen on Milan's official site, writing his love and gratitude towards everyone who have been helping him at the club including fans. Pippo, pretty much revealed his love towards the Rossoneri, who have been providing him with lots of great experience until now, including tons of titles.

This season has pretty much marked the end of an era for Milan, with important senatores eventually departing from the club, there will be a new atmosphere next summer, an interesting one obviously without the likes of Nesta, Gattuso, Seedorf, Zambrota and Pippo Inzaghi. Ambrosini is looking as the likeliest to stay for this season to keep some of the old Milan spirit intact until other players eventually capable of leading the dressing room, which are filled with many egos.

Departures might be difficult to handle, but many fans have been asking for rejuvenation for quite a while now, so they have to simply accept this current situation. The last game at San Siro will definitely be an emotional match as Milanisti will embrace their legends, who have been with them for quite some time pretty much waving goodbye at the same moment. Goodbye Legends..
