Milan Start Preseason With a Win Over Bordeaux

AC Milan's reign under Vincenzo Montella starts off in a positive fashion as Rossoneri picked up a 2-1 win over French side Bordeaux in their first preseason friendly. The Red and Black squad netted all of their goals during the firs 45 minutes through Suso's double. Bordeaux pulled one back in the second half after host of substitution being brought into the tie, killing off any control that Milan build during the first half.

Despite being their first ever preseason game, Rossoneri were keen on introducing their new game plan since kick off and there's glimpse of that possession play Montella is keen on having. Nevertheless, it was never going to be executed perfectly considering they are still at an early phase of training session. Still, Milan actually managed to hold the ball well, but heavy legs along with lack some lack of communication in the final third broke down many attacking plays.

However, their dominant nature eventually prevail as Milan took the lead through Suso after taking advantage of a defensive errors. Rossoneri continue to surge forward and create some opportunities, while Bordeaux tried to play more direct as they push for an equalizing goal. Eventually, Montella's boys were able to double their lead with another strike from Suso, finishing the first 45 minutes in a 2-0 lead for The Red and Black squad.

After the break, Milan immediately made plenty of changes, causing a drop of intensity and quality into their play which Bordeaux took advantage off. The French side looked more dangerous on that second period, while Rossoneri only able to break away in burst, though they still create some good opportunities, mainly from Luiz Adriano. However, a fine wing play eventually lead into the home team pulling one goal back through Malcom's fine finish inside the penalty area.

Montella's boys had couple of good opportunities late in the half to seal the game off but couldn't convert their chances. However, the Rossoneri which were filled with Primavera players that period were able to hold down their slender lead giving Montella his first win in the preseason.
