AC Milan Midweek Transfer News (Wednesday, 17, 2016): Milan Signed Sosa, Keen on Diawara

AC Milan's attempt to bolster their midfield have been hitting some problems recently, but they eventually set out their mind in grabbing former Besiktas, Napoli and Atletico Madrid player, Jose Sosa, who supposedly arrived in a 7.5 million euro deal. The midfielder will be wearing the number 23 jersey and is keen on transferring his experience and give his best for the next two years with Vincenzo Montella's side. Already linked with the player since early days of calcio mercato, it wasn't until Milan's offer for Rodrigo Bentacour got rejected by Boca that Rossoneri finally opted to get the player that Montella recommended.

Sosa is not a new face in Serie A or European football as he has been moving around in several teams, including top sides in recent years. Being touted as a talented midfielder in his younger days, the 31-year-old never really live up to what the early expectation given him, but he has been playing well recently at Besiktas and that possibly what sparks Montella's interest on the player. He has always been known as a technically good player with excellent free kicks and passing skills, so the Argentinian kind of fit what the Rossoneri's tactician is looking for. Although the age factor might be clouding some fans judgement, but for a short term deal it could be a positive deal for Milan, especially if the coach can integrate the ex-Bayern Munich man into Red and Black squad setup.

Potential arrivals:

Now let's talk about another potential signing for Milan, the latest name being mentioned is Bologna wantaway midfielder, Amadou Diawara, who has been causing some problems with his current club due to his persistence of moving. AS Roma, Napoli along with Aston Villa are being linked with the midfielder and Rossoneri have join the chase with reports claiming they are preparing a loan (fee included) with an option to make it permanent next summer. It's still not clear on what Rossoblu's intention, though rumors stating they would prefer to move the rebel away from Italy, but good relationship with Milan might make Roberto Donadoni's side considering that proposal.

Another name that recently being mentioned is Anwar El Ghazi from Ajax Amsterdam, reports stating that he has been offered by his agent after Rossoneri were showing an interest last January. Milan might be considering to take the wide attacker, should Montella is keen on getting the player, but his signing could be related with potential departures of players who are currently still at Milan.

Potential departures:

Alessandro Matri has leave the club, but there are still some vague situation with several names, such as Keisuke Honda, Luiz Adriano, Diego Lopez and even Carlos Bacca. The dynamic market can still see those names moving away before the transfer window close, especially with some teams are looking for players at the time being. The transfer market still at least two weeks away, so many things can easily change, especially during the final week of the market where teams are getting desperate to bolster their squad or even maybe trimming it.
