AC Milan Midweek Transfer Updates (Thursday, August 25, 2016): Milan Closing On Palisic, Romagnoli Not for Sale

There's some interesting development in this last few days of the summer transfer market for AC Milan as Rossoneri continue their search for new midfield players that can be deployed by Vincenzo Montella. The latest name being mentioned is young Chelsea midfielder, Mario Pasalic, who spent last year on loan with Monaco, though he didn't managed to finish the season playing with them due to back injury. Pasalic has the technical and tactical tool to play Montella's type of football, but his current fitness condition will be evaluated thoroughly by Milan before they signed the midfielder on loan.

Aside from Pasilic will there will be any other arrivals, media seem convinced that Milan should at least make another signing in midfielder, notably with recent injury to Andrea Bertolacci and potential departures, which I will discuss later in this posting. However, for now there's still no clear indication who Milan plan to bring, though rumors still linking them with usual names such as Milan Badelj, Leandro Paredes and another new name, Pedro Obiang. There could still be a name who hasn't been mentioned a lot by the media as transfer market in this stage are usually very dynamic. There's also a defender being mentioned to arrive, Rodrigo Caio from Sao Paulo, but so far rumors claiming that he will only come in January 2017.

As for news about players being linked or approach by other teams, Milan have officially announced that Alessio Romagnoli is not available in the market, after Rossoneri received an important offer from Chelsea. The Blues reportedly submitted a 35 million Euro plus 5 in bonuses for Romagnoli, but Rossoneri's upcoming Chinese owner are said not interested in cashing out for one of fan favorite in the current squad. Current ownership, Finivest themselves are also rumored not keen on parting ways with the former AS Roma defender, whom they just bought last summer.

The recent voice of concern from Milan fans after hearing Chelsea's interest, seemingly 'forced' the club to make an official announcement about them rejecting The Blues offer, proving how attached Rossoneri fans already with the 21-year-old defender. Meanwhile, Jose Mauri is being rumored to be heading away from San Siro with Empoli as possible destination as the player has asked for insurance of playing time, which can't be confirmed at the moment. The deal is far from being concluded as details remained under wraps for now, though there's reports about potential buy out clause being inserted.

Other names rumored to be leaving before the end of this transfer window are Jherson Vergara, Keisuke Honda, Luiz Adriano, Diego Lopez and Gabriel (gk). Meanwhile Gabriel Paletta still attracting attention of several teams, with Atalanta reportedly already made an offer which was rejected by Milan. There's still no clear indication whether Milan are strongly keen on keeping Paletta or they eventually let him leave this summer, despite starting their opening fixture against Torino, which also saw the defender sent off.  It remain to be seen on whether those name will really be leaving Rossoneri this summer, if they do, the Red and Black squad should probably make a haste so they can sign a potential replacement before deadline day.
